Swaddled bABy Bunnykins
One of the questions that must haunt most AB’s is, why am I like this?
I have been alive a relatively long time as an AB and started in the days before colour TV let alone the internet.
To set the scene, I was in a baby children’s home until I was 4 when I was fostered out and later adopted by the same family. I’m not really going to go into my childhood at home as it wasn’t pleasant but it was in my childhood that I developed a desire to be treated as a baby.
How did it happen, well it was an evolving thing. My first recollection of wanting to wear nappies was on my first trip back to the nursery home I had been in for a Christmas Party. Now I have to say, I feel lucky when I hear of all the really bad things that have happened in Children’s homes in the UK over the years with children abused sexually and disappearing. So I had good karma.
On our visit for the Christmas party a couple of things happen that made me very sad. The first was that when all the other children came out to eat, they were all put into a baby bib, but not me and I so wanted to wear one.
Later I had to go to the toilet and I went by myself having been used to the outlay of the home, when I walked in there were nappies and plastic pants hanging on radiator and clothes horses and I wanted to touch them but one of the nannies working in the home was there so all I could do was look and dream.

Nothing much happened but I remember one day playing with my mother and she had a piece of cloth and was saying, I will put you into a nappy and I would laugh and say no, I didn’t really understand and because my parents were not nice, it was an unusual situation but nothing happened and I ran off to play.

One evening I stayed over at a neighbor’s house as my parents went out late. The family I stayed with the Registers in Tudor Drive had two daughters, the youngest was still in night time nappies and as I came out of the room she walked past me, dropped her nappy and plastic pants and ran to the toilet. I was fascinated by the nappy but didn’t dare do anything so just went back into the room till she had finished in the bathroom and went myself.
Next thing to happen was my trip to the school dentist one day. I got off school early and went to the dentist. On the way home as I was walking I saw a pram in a garden, now what possessed me to do this I don’t know, but I saw a nappy in the basket underneath and ran in, grabbed the nappy and ran to my hiding place in what we called the jungle. Now I had no idea how to wear it and just played with it and then put in my school bag and took it home.

I hid it in amongst a lot of bedding thinking no one would know but I was very wrong, my mother didn’t say anything but when my father came home he called me upstairs and was standing holding the nappy and asking me where I got it from. I said I found it on the street, but he didn’t believe me and gave me a hiding and then told me to take it back where I got it from, that never happened. I stashed it in a shed I used to hide things in that no one ever used.

So started my love of nappies and plastic pants, I would walk down lane ways in my town looking over fences at all the nappies and sometimes jumping over the fence and stealing a couple of nappies and running to my hiding place and putting in my pants. I still didn’t know about pins and stuff so it was all makeshift but over the years from about 10 to 16 I stole a lot of nappies. At 15 I got caught and arrested for stealing nappies it was very embarrassing and the police didn’t know what to say, they would ask me if I had a motor bike or bike that I needed to clean etc. Anyway a family friend got me off with a warning and I went off to Australia to live by myself.
Now that was another adventure of babyhood for me but for another time.
